  • Adaptive Learning Experience
    • CFA Institute is implementing adaptive learning through its online study platform, providing personalized study plans and resources based on individual progress and performance in practice questions.
    • Online Question Banks and mock exams have been enhanced to allow better preparation and performance tracking.
  • Work Experience Requirement:
    • The CFA Institute has maintained the requirement of 4,000 hours of relevant work experience over at least 3 years. This can be completed before, during, or after the program.
    • Work-experience recognition: CFA now recognizes work in fields like data analytics, risk management, and financial technology (FinTech) as qualifying work experience.
  • Exam Structure and Timing
    • Computer-based testing (CBT): The CFA exams are conducted in CBT format across all levels. Candidates can choose from multiple windows throughout the year for each level.
    • Duration: Each exam consists of two 2-hour and 15-minute sessions, making the total testing time 4.5 hours (reduced from the earlier 6-hour exam format).
    • Frequency of Exams:
      • Level I: Four times a year (February, May, August, November).
      • Level II: Three times a year (May, August, November).
      • Level III: Twice a year (May, November).
  • Fees and Scholarships
    • Enrollment Fee: A one-time enrollment fee of around $350.

    • Exam Fees: Vary by registration period:

    • Early registration: Around $900 per level.

    • Standard registration: Around $1,200 per level.
