1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Sidhpura’s Institute of Commerce (“we”, “us”, “the Institute”) handles your personal information in the Sidhpura’s Institute of Commerce mobile app (the “App”).
The App lets students view their schedule, attendance, tests, progress, live classes, and notifications, and lets parents/guardians monitor a linked child’s attendance, fees, messages, and results.
By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.
2. Information We Collect
- Account details: Name, email (students), phone number (guardians), date of birth, batch/class/branch, and an optional profile photo.
- App activity: Attendance, tests, progress, results, fees, messages, notifications, and lecture schedules.
- Security data: Your 6-digit PIN, login session tokens, and failed-attempt counters (stored securely on your device).
- Device data: A push-notification token, basic device/OS details, and network (online/offline) status.
Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint): If you enable this, unlocking is done entirely by your device. We never see or store your fingerprint or face data — the App only gets a yes/no result.
We do not collect your location or sell your data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and log you in.
- Provide the App’s features — attendance, schedules, live classes, tests, results, fees, messages, and notifications.
- Link guardians to the correct child’s information.
- Send you relevant notifications.
- Keep your account secure and improve the App.
- Meet our legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your data. We share it only:
- Between linked accounts — a guardian can view their linked student’s information.
- For legal reasons — when required by law or to protect users and the Institute.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Sensitive data (tokens, PIN handling, preferences) is stored on your device using the platform’s secure store (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
- Communication with our servers uses HTTPS/TLS.
- The App uses a PIN, optional biometrics, auto-lock after inactivity, and a temporary lockout after repeated failed attempts.
No system is 100% secure. If a data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by law.
6. Data Retention
We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the App, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Data stored on your device is removed when you log out or uninstall the App.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may access, correct, or delete your data, or withdraw consent. In the App you can also:
- Turn notifications on/off.
- Enable or disable biometric unlock.
- Add or remove your profile photo.
Accounts are created and deleted by the Institute. To create, close, or make changes to your account, or to exercise any right above, contact us (Section 9). We may verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Permissions
The App may ask for these device permissions:
- Notifications — to alert you when a student is marked absent, and to send lecture updates and student quarterly reports. If denied, you won’t get push notifications.
- Biometrics — for optional quick unlock. If denied, you’ll unlock with your PIN.
- Photos / camera — to set a profile photo. If denied, you can’t change your avatar.
